This is the first Type "C" that's been factory carved. The incised line follows the finial outline and adds a nice flair to the beautiful finial. Notice how the butt plate and trigger guard finials are identical, as was the practice on early French firearms. Note also the "grotesque" mask engraving on butt plate and trigger guard bow. This was a very constant feature in French artwork.

Top of breech area showing a nice added engraving area at breech Note long sexy carved teardrop lock panel.

Full length view of Type"C". This gun features a 41 inch barrel and in 20 gauge only weighs a tad over 7 lbs.

Left hand close up showing "French" stock architecture and curving comb and wrist line. Note how low the comb line is and how it runs parallel with the bore. It makes the gun very user friendly because it does not recoil into the shooter's cheekbone and cause pain!

Close up of true French lock and nice teardrop finial. French locks have flat faces and hammers with triangular pans. Fire-blued screws add lots of color!

Close up of pierced side plate featuring dragon and also the graceful trigger profile.

The final "touch" to this beautiful French fowling piece is the sterling silver thumbpiece.
