The full length view of the walnut stocked .45 cal. Southern. It only weighs about 5 lbs and is a delight to hold in your hand.

Close up of lock area, showing nicely detailed triggers, trigger guard and belly line carving. The lock sizzles with sparks when fired!

Left side showing side plates and incised tear drop lock panel carving.

Long view of rear half showing carving around cheekpiece and molding on the top of the shelf. The walnut had the typical large pores, but through persistent coats of finish and careful sanding, I finally got them filled so you can't get a 4 wheel drive truck stuck in the grooves if you were to drive over it!!

Close up of rear carving. Note nice finial treatment on butt plate top.

Typical southern style engraving on trigger guard bow and toe plate.

Rear sight engraving. The light catches surfaces in a funny way sometimes, but the top of the wood is nice and smooth despite the seeming irregularities.

Engraving on butt plate finial and breech. Note lollipop tang breech plug. Real fun to inlet...
