We met John Barrett, a
very talented horn, bag and knife maker at Mansker's Station in Nashville at
this year's Trade Fair. We were very impressed with his skills and knowledge and
wanted to show some of his work to those who might be interested. John also
happened to grow up near David Crockett's home place in Tennessee and knows a
lot of information about Crockett and his belongings. We are in the process of
setting up a presentation to President Bush of our serial #1 Crockett Rifle.
John has graciously agreed to build and donate a bag and horn for the
presentation. He has a reproduction painting of Crockett with a beautiful bag
that he is going to re-produce in exact detail. It has a beautiful beaver-tail
shaped flap with a fawn skin insert. We know John will do a bang-up job and are
happy to be working with such a dedicated craftsman. If you would like to
contact John for details concerning his work, he can be reached at 931-261-5528,
with mailing address; 137 Dunbar Dr., Crossville, TN., 38555
