Andrew Caywood with a nice 6-point Arkansas buck, taken on the last day of the muzzleloading season. Andy was a Marine sniper and has proved to be deadly shot with his flintlock, also. This is 3 years in a row that he's taken a buck with his Wilson .50 caliber trade gun. This buck was taken at approximately 50 yards with a beautiful heart/lung shot. Suffice it to say, there was no tracking required. Congratulations Andy, you sure make a dad proud. No high powered rifles for this family's trips to the deer woods.

I also got lucky and took a nice 6 point buck with my .54 caliber English Game gun. The buck was quartering into me and I was elevated above him. The shot was a heart/lung shot and he went down in his tracks. This buck weighed 210 lbs. live weight and was tough to load up by myself. I don't know why my buddies always run the opposite direction and hide when they hear my flintlock go off???! You just can't depend on some people. I also took another buck with a neck shot on my last morning to hunt, so my freezer was full this year, even with all the house building going on.
