The new optional patchbox for our Southern Mountain Rifle. It will be offered in either brass or iron. As a companion touch, we are also going to offer the end cap in brass as an option. I know we swore we weren't going to offer a patchbox on this gun, but you guys were making whining noises that sounded eerily similar to my ex-wife...and I just couldn't take it any more. Overall length is 5 1/4 inches and width is1 1/8th inches. We have the same rope and wedding band pattern on the finial, so that it matches all the rest of the furniture. It features a stylized dogwood flower engraving and should make for quite an elegant addition to your new rifle. Finished price is $200. (So there you have it and I don't want to hear any more whining!! This is just the master part and the hinge will be fitted to perfection on cast parts, of course. That's what we're claiming any way...)
Here is one of the first finished patchboxes in brass. The picture is a little grainy, but the finished product looks great in person. Available in either blued iron or satin finished brass. Fire-blued, domed screws will hold it in place!
