President Bush and Danny Caywood with the number 1 Crockett Rifle replica. The presentation was made in 2003 in Little Rock Arkansas. Mr. Bush was a very gracious and appreciative recipient of the fine rifle. He just wouldn't let go of it! I got to speak with the President for about 5 minutes, which is quite an honor considering that he could be considered a very busy man.
Mr. John Barrett donated a beautiful fawn-skin hunting bag (Crockett was documented to own one like it) with two horns and knife which complemented this fine collector's item. John did a fantastic job and the President couldn't have been happier with the whole package. I found out later that he did keep this as a personal gift and paid taxes on it.
