Zoe Caywood with a hard won "boss" gobbler. This is the biggest bird Zoe has ever taken and she is also the only woman to take the World Slam with a muzzleloader and she did it with a FLINTLOCK! This bird weighed 26.5 lbs., had 1.5 inch spurs and an 11.5 inch beard. She also got her second gobbler in the second week of Missouri's turkey season. She is now off to Kansas to further frustrate herself chasing rockheads. Good luck Zoe...get another big one!

Mr. Allen Reed purchased a 12 gauge English Game gun semi-finished kit and did the assembly and finish work himself. He did a beautiful job on this piece of stumpwood and really made it glow. The top picture shows his bag and horn with the engraved "Wattlebuster" insignia. The 12 gauge barrel was jug choked full and he said it really shot great. I also engraved, in block letters, "Wattlebuster" on top of the barrel. Allen didn't say how much the bird weighed, but it is a mature gobbler and a trophy for sure. When you tag one of these wily birds using a flintlock, you have accomplished something special. Special gun, special bird~

Jon Mende from New York took his biggest turkey ever with his brand new "Caywood" 12 gauge English fowler. Jon called when he got the gun and expressed his wonder at the craftsmanship and work on the gun. He quickly patterned the "full" jug choked fowler and proceeded to go out and take this bird with his first shot out of the gun at wild game. Thanks Jon and congratulations on a hard-won bird.

Talk about a hook?!? Jon said this was 1 1/2 inches long and sharp. He must have been a 4 or 5 year old bird to have grown a spur this long. Smart old bird no doubt, to survive all the critters that love turkey!
