THE CAYWOOD FRENCH TYPE "C" FOWLER .

The type "C" is a very early French gun, commonly thought to have evolved into this form sometime around 1650. With all fully engraved furniture, sterling silver thumbpiece, inletted entry thimble and elaborate vine and dragon style side plate, this is an exquisite example of the very best in French style art and architecture.

The barrel is a  12 inch taper octagon to swamped round  barrel with the Caywood 6 barrel interchangeable system. The stylized torch finials on the trigger guard and butt plate match, with each component having a different "grotesque" mask engraving.

The fully inletted trigger guard is a straight rail style with medium size graceful bow and graceful trigger profile.

This high quality gentleman's fowler also comes standard with

a nicely figured maple stock.

The 41 inch 20 gauge fowler comes in at under 7.5 lbs.!

Offered in right hand version only.
